Flow diagram showing designed artifacts moving from intervention through observation, interpretation, revision, and renewed use.
Design-Based Research keeps public artifacts answerable by routing each designed intervention through observation, interpretation, revision, and renewed use.

Visual Intent

This diagram gives 2_semantic_garden/Design_Based_Research.md a flow-shaped visual model instead of asking the generic OIA cycle to carry the whole methodological load. The node is about a research discipline for public artifacts: a designed intervention enters use, produces traces, receives interpretation, changes the artifact or question, and then returns to the field for another pass.

The important public distinction is that Design-Based Research is not vague iteration. It is a method for keeping claims, tools, and drafts answerable to contact with use. The figure makes that route inspectable so readers can see why a provisional Field Guide can still be rigorous.
